About the event

The World Rugby First Aid In Rugby (FAIR) course is designed to provide individuals involved in rugby (including coaches, referees and players) with the necessary knowledge and skills to respond to injuries and medical emergencies on the field. This course focuses on equipping participants with the ability to provide immediate and appropriate first aid care to injured players.

The FAIR course covers a range of topics related to rugby-specific injuries such as head injuries, fractures, sprains and strains. Participants will learn about the signs and symptoms of common rugby injuries, as well as the appropriate first aid techniques and protocols for managing them. The course also emphasises the importance of player safety and injury prevention strategies.

The course includes both theoretical and practical components. Participants will engage in classroom sessions, discussions and interactive exercises to enhance their understanding of first aid principles and techniques. They will also have the opportunity to apply their knowledge through practical scenarios and simulations where they will learn how to assess and provide appropriate first aid care in a rugby context.

Upon successful completion of the FAIR course participants will receive a certification accredited by World Rugby, indicating their competence in providing first aid in rugby. This certification is recognised internationally and demonstrates the participant's readiness to respond effectively to injuries and medical emergencies during rugby activities.

The World Rugby FAIR course is designed to ensure the safety and well-being of players by equipping individuals involved in rugby with the necessary first aid skills. It emphasises the importance of prompt and appropriate response to injuries, enabling participants to provide immediate care and potentially prevent further harm.

The certification covers all forms/variations of rugby that require medical (L1) FAIR coverage.
