Muscat 6s: A Landmark Event in Omani Rugby

The recently concluded Muscat 6s tournament has set a new benchmark in Oman's rugby scene. This year’s edition shattered previous records, attracting an unprecedented number of participants, with over 200 players competing across multiple teams. Remarkably, this included a record number of Omani players, showcasing the growing popularity of touch rugby within the local community.


For the first time, nearly 40 of the participants were Omani, reflecting the success of grassroots initiatives aimed at promoting the sport in the Sultanate. The tournament was a vibrant mix of talent, bringing together seasoned athletes and enthusiastic newcomers in a highly competitive yet friendly atmosphere.


The event was widely praised from seamless scheduling and well-maintained pitches to comprehensive safety measures and vibrant off-field activities, the Muscat 6s delivered an unforgettable experience for players and spectators alike. The event’s organizers demonstrated their commitment to inclusivity, fostering a sense of community while promoting healthy competition.
